The great thing about the interaction between WEINMANN and HOMAG is that expertise is never far away. WEINMANN will be exhibiting at LIGNA as a comprehensive service provider for timber construction. In addition to its modern machines and systems, WEINMANN has extensive expert expertise along the entire process chain, from beam processing through the creation of frame works and elements to material handling. In addition to refined WEINMANN technology, its in-house Academy also offers a unique range of basic and advanced training opportunities for users. The training portfolio includes training courses for machines and software as well as continuous advanced training courses and qualifications to provide carpentry businesses and prefabricated house manufacturers with the ideal means to prepare for current and future challenges. However, the market is changing and with emerging market segments, customers are also faced with new needs and requirements for their own production. With its expertise in timber construction, WEINMANN can advise its customers on current market trends and also provide advice on the development of future-oriented solution concepts.

Automated prefabrication with robotics and multifunction support

At LIGNA, WEINMANN will be presenting a highly automated and collaborative production cell. The FEEDBOT W-500 robot automatically places panels on the frame work. In conjunction with the WALLTEQ M-300 multifunction support, this creates a flexible, efficient production cell. The robot and multifunction bridge operate in parallel. The robot removes both full-format and cut panels from the unprocessed material stack fully automatically, aligns them, deposits them with a high level of precision and, if required, fixes them in place on the frame work.

Flexible and profitable production of small quantities

The WALLTEQ M-300 is ideally tailored to the needs of woodworking shops and meets the increasing requirements with regard to prefabrication and element construction. Featuring two fastening units and, depending on the customer's requirements, a routing and/or sawing unit, it can be used to perform all processing steps on wall, roof and ceiling elements. In particular, processing soft wood fiber insulation panels is more efficient thanks to the sawing unit and the optimized suction unit.

The increased process flexibility is particularly useful for woodworking shops with a wide product portfolio ranging from classic new buildings to producing elements for serial renovation. The WALLTEQ series can be fitted with optional units for batten installation and timber façade mounting. A tool change system on the multifunction bridge allows fastening units to be interchanged as needed and stored in a space-saving manner in the fastenerSwitch

The batten shoe can, in particular, increase the degree of automation in the prefabrication of roof elements. The battens can be secured semi-automatically in the longitudinal and transverse directions. This not only improves ergonomy, but also reduces the need for time-consuming, challenging tasks at height on the construction site.

The facade shoe makes it possible to attach and format wooden facades semi-automatically.

These optional units are also ideal for serial renovation. In multi-story timber work, in particular, manual production processes are significantly reduced. The cost of quality control and any post-processing is also considerably reduced.

When combined with the WALLTEQ M-300, these options form an optimal package for operations in woodworking shops.

The new wupWorks 5 operating software — a whole new level of user-friendliness

wupWorks 5 is the CNC operating software for WEINMANN solutions. Starting with the WALLTEQ M-300 multifunction support, wupWorks 5 is gradually replacing the previous versions. Our focus with the new wupWorks 5 operating software is on providing maximum support for the operator so that in addition to guiding users through current tasks, the system also paves the way for planning and provisioning new jobs.

This creates an ideal link between work preparation and manual support during operations. The new wupWorks 5 software version offers the machine operator a range of optimized features that simplify the work sequence on the machine, making it even more user-friendly. In summary, wupWorks 5 features with a user-based operating concept as well as improved visualization and overview.
